Introduction

The Taxes Office required a system for Jersey Financial Institutions to allow their non resident multi jurisdictional customers to submit their returns online. The system was to permit CRS return submissions by uploading a multi jurisdictional returns and then process it at a later stage using a management portal to track the status of all submitted returns.

Solution

Giant created both public and private facing websites with the organisation's own branding which fulfilled the requirements. The website collects submitted data with the integrity and security expected by a financial institution. When the jurisidiction decides to forward the information from the Financial Institutions to CTS, the return is split into separate jurisdictional submission files and digitally signed, ready to be securely transmitted to CTS.

Results

Jersey has now been formally assessed as “compliant” by the OECD’s Global Forum on Tax Transparency and Exchange of Information. This is the highest possible rating and means that Jersey joins a very small number of other jurisdictions which have been found fully to meet every aspect of the international standard.
